Session 8: Development - Testing
In this online course, I create some media and i will use Microsoft PowerPoint, syllabus, and some links in the syllabus. All The media that I create using ((scribd)) website to upload my PowerPoint and syllabus. And I will create word documents explaining each step of the method to solve every problem that may the student face it when they try to open the program or the PowerPoint.
I would test my media to make sure every things work and clear, by asking several friends that close to me, to view the PowerPoint, syllabus and the documents before upload them in scribd website and also after I upload them too.
After I upload all my media I will have some sample students try all the media in there place that they be upload the media for example, at home, work, university etc.
I will ask these students about the problem that may be face it when they view the materials, for example: download speeds, the clear of the color, clear of the words size, etc.
I will have some sample students try to view the media in different kind of computer, such as, Vista, Windows XP, and Macintosh. And I will take note if they face any problem I will fix it to make sure the desired students learning outcomes are being met.
I liked the way that you are using different groups of people to help you test your materials. It is important to also test the materials on different machines. I learned that when I was presenting at the college for the EdTech conference. Sometimes programs do not work on computer unless special programs are installed on a computer. It is nice to be able to inform students of what programs they need to have on their computers to be able to access your lessons. I look forward to seeing your final project.
ReplyDeleteYour plan for testing looks good. Them more help you have the better the chances that you will find any problems before you use the materials.
ReplyDeleteI think the idea of being comprehensive while at the same time taking things step-by-step is great. I am trying in my design (and in my research project with Dr. Baek in another class) to keep things simple in terms of technology I know I can use, and then maybe later I can branch out. I know others are more sophisticated at it than I am, but c'est la vie.
